Space Sharks by beQuest Miniatures

Get Out of the Water!

If there’s one thing that always hits my nostalgia button it's classic metal sculpting. Jonas over at beQuest Miniatures has done just that with his Space Sharks Kickstarter campaign

Jonas spent months sculpting these guys out of greenstuff and milliput, and the craftsmanship really shows. The core offering features:

  • 10 Space Shark Soldiers: bulky, heavy-armor space marine troopers packed with 90s-core retro detail, and
  • 5 Space Goblins: testy little buggers that fit perfectly into any sci-fi or grimdark tabletop system.

The casting and mould-making are being handled by Hagen-Miniatures (a veteran in white metal spincasting). One of the biggest concerns with Kickstarters is always production and fulfillment, but beQuest Miniatures has a good history with a very solid track record there.

Perfect for Space Weirdos

If you're wondering how best to use these miniatures on the gaming table, look no further than the Space Weirdos ruleset!

Garske Game’s skirmish rules are built specifically for running whatever weird, old-school lead is lying around on your workbench, and these hand-sculpted white metal miniatures fit that low-model-count, high-flavor vibe perfectly.

Support Independent Sculpting!

These Space Sharks are well worth checking out before the campaign wraps up later this month. With 3D printing and digital renders taking over the hobby, guys who still sculpt full ranges by hand with physical putty are getting rare.

Beyond backing the campaign, consider throwing Jonas a few bucks each month on his beQuest Miniatures Patreon. It keeps the lights on for future sculpts, gives you a look behind the scenes at his workbench process, and helps ensure we can keep getting real, physical, white metal models on our gaming tables!
